The Pittsburgh, Youngstown & Ashtabula Railroad is an HO Scale model railroad that represents modern day railroad operations in Western Pennsylvania and Northeast Ohio. Operations are centered around 2 large steel mills and a coal mine. The steel mill operations move raw materials to the mill for the production of iron and steel and the finished products of coil steel and steel slabs are shipped out. Coal mine operations have empty unit coal trains traveling to a large coal mine to be loaded and shipped out to various locations. The 26' x 32' layout is owned by Jim DiPaola. In 2010 the layout became the new home to part of the buildings and rolling stock of Davies Steel and the South Ridge Lines which are from Dean Freytag's model railroad empire. This is the new home of Davies Steel and South Ridge Lines.
